Copy Plan to Existing Group
The ability to copy a Plan was recently released (see link below) but this only provides the ability to copy a plan to a new O365 Group. It does not provide the ability to copy a plan to an existing O365 Group. Most people do not want to create a new O365 Group for every Plan they have (Group sprawl). Please offer an option when copying a Plan to either target an existing Group or a new Group based on your preference.
904 votesHi everyone,
We have updated our Copy Plan experience – please try it out today!
This improvement includes the ability to choose an existing group or team to copy the plan into (or choose to create a new group). You’ll also be able to customize what gets copied over. Attachments can only be copied over into existing groups/teams.
You can get more details here – https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/planner-blog/expanding-the-copy-plan-and-filtering-features-based-on-your/ba-p/1483491

Copy Plan to Existing Group when Users are not allowed to create new groups
With the new copy plan functionality to allow plan copy between groups, we still can't use this due to User group creation being disabled.
Please update the logic to allow plan copying to existing groups even when User creation of new groups is disabled.
13 votesHi all! Thank you for your patience. Everyone should have the ability to copy plans to existing groups now.

Integrate Planner with Microsoft To-Do
Please make it possible for tasks created in Planner to sync with Microsoft To-Do, so it is accessible across Outlook, To-Do and Planner.
1,046 votesHello!
We’ve just released our integration with To-Do as a first step towards a larger task coherence initiative.
Today, you can view and edit Planner tasks you’ve been assigned in To-Do’s new Assigned to me list. This is available on to-do.office.com and To-Do’s Windows, Android, and iOS apps.
Here are more details on this integration: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Planner-Blog/Planner-and-To-Do-integration-bringing-you-a-more-cohesive-task/ba-p/553485
Our work in this area is not done, and we’re relying on you to help us decide what’s next, please keep the suggestions coming!

Allow Tasks to be moved between Plans/Boards.
Currently you can only move Tasks to different Buckets within a Plan/Board. It would be very useful to be able to also copy or move them to different Plans/Boards that you are a member of.
4,993 votesThank you for your feedback! We’ve improved the ‘Copy task’ dialogue so you can chose a different plan to send a copy of a task to! We’ll be exploring and expanding the ways in which you and your team can organize work in Planner, and hope this will be a helpful step forward.
Here’s an article to learn more about this feature: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=872349
Let us know what you think below! Thanks again for taking the time to vote for this idea.

Provide the ability to create Plan templates with existing tasks that can then be used to create a new plan
Rather than having to create every plan from scratch it would be good if the system allowed for the creation of Templates with pre-existing tasks (like in Word/Excel). This would allow a new plan and its tasks to be created from a template saving a lot of time.
10,025 votesHi everyone,
Thank you for your patience. We have updated our Copy Plan experience – please try it out today!

Remove 250 task limit per person per plan.
Currently, there is a 250 task limit per person per plan. The error states “You've run out of space! Delete some old tasks and projects to continue creating new ones.” Removing completed tasks defeats the purpose of using Planner as a historical task tracker if resources are limited to 250 tasks.
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msofficeother-msowin10/planner-cant-submit-more-tasks-for-a-specific/12fee9a1-9681-4c12-9920-1b9aa43a4ba7738 votesThis limit has been removed – users can now have thousands of tasks assigned to them.
We’re continuing work around performance and actively monitoring how many users hit this limit. So far, we only have seen users with unchecked Flows/automated task assignments hitting this limit.
We are planning on publishing formal documentation around all of our Planner limits once we’ve completed more performance work, but don’t have anything to share at this time.

Integration with outlook tasks
New tasks created in Planner should also be seen in outlook
10,686 votesHello! We wanted to provide an update to our status below. As we announced in our previous status update, our initial integration with To Do was our first step in a journey of bringing all your Microsoft Task Management services closer together, including Outlook and Planner. Through To Do, you can see your Planner tasks within Outlook on the Web.
However, the continuing feedback on this post makes it clear that there is a desire for more work to be done to improve this experience. We want to make sure this feedback and votes aren’t getting lost by being added to this existing post.
Instead, we’d like to make sure you have a forum to express these continuing pain points / desires, and a way to vote for which ones you’d like us to work on first (and how we should prioritize those asks against the many other great asks…

Function to add more Labels
Sometimes the Labels are not enough, for example if you use it to tag different departments or functions
5,438 votesYou can now choose up to 25 colored labels per task in Planner and Planner tasks in Tasks in Teams. More labels allows for greater flexibility when organizing tasks. Use labels to flag risks, signal delays, help fine tune task prioritization, clarify accountabilities, or categorize tasks around a theme spanning multiple buckets. Anything you can think of that requires color-coding and tagging tasks, labels can help.
More labels has been a top customer ask and we’re happy to make it available now to all organizations. Try it out in the mobile and web/desktop versions of Planner and Tasks in Teams.

Copy a task
Need the ability to copy a task, including the checklists and other items within the task. This would allow one to set up a template task, then create many tasks using that template task. This is a different request than the many copy suggestions that have been made already.
