  1. Inset name of Plan in the e-mail notification

When we receive an e-mail notification of assigned tasks to you or by other member something like that, on notification only have the task name. As we are many tasks, the first time, we can't identify what plan we have to do the tasks.

I know that the "My Tasks" have as function centralize our tasks showed up by "Bucket" or "Process". But this idea is something simply, only facility the view of what about plan the tasks refers.

  2. Save settings "group by" (bucket / "progress" / "attributed to") and menu (collapse / expand)

When we collapse side menu and/or select a type of grouping (ex: "Attribued to") and, a moment after, we need reload the page, or select other plan, menu and "group by" return to the original form which they was begun.

Would be nice if the system record our preferences. Thus, we wouldn't need to change the settings whenever reload the page.

    Thank you for your attention

  3. invite someone who is not on Office365

The flexibility to invite someone without an office365 account will be a great plus feature. I think it's already a standard, since Basecamp and Asana also allows that.

  4. link attachment preview

When attaching a link, preview is enabled as default, and the link shows up as a big icon.

    1. Would be nicer to display a small icon as preview.

It is also not so clear whether preview mode is selected in the menu.
    2. Would be good for selection to be more intuitive.

  6. Great scrum tool

If I could just make the distinction between journey, epic, user story and task then its a fantastic scrum tool. Now its "only" great.

Of course you can make a planner per journey, bucket per epic, task per user story but I missing just one level = multiple tasks per user story.

Some additional metadata on task level would be great too; story points, task type e.g. issue or rework

  7. Provide easy link to Planner from Outlook Group

Groups main page in Office365 shows a nice menu with links to Conversations, Calendar, Files, Notebook, and Connectors. Would be nice to see "Planner" or "Tasks" on this menu.

  8. Planning Time Requirements Similar to TFS

In TFS we use time requirements and capacity to determine workload. The lack of this capability prevents us from using Planner.

  9. Planner tasks linked to the calendar

You enter in your outlook mail calendar and you can see all the tasks assigned to all the days according to the deadlines.

  10. Stop Planner creating a new email address for a private plan

Planner is a great collaborative tool but also very useful to use just on an individual basis for own tasks and responsibilities. However, if you create any new plan, it automatically creates a new email address for that plan that is immediately visible in the organisations address book/contact list in Outlook. It would be useful if you had the option just to use planner without it doing this.

  11. Follow up or check in dates

The ability to set 'follow up' or 'check in' dates, in addition to an ultimate due date, for larger tasks that require on-going attention.

  12. Every suggestion posted at http://www.mikedoesweb.com/2016/microsoft-planner-vs-trello/ is a good one.

Well, excepting item #1 which you've already fixed. ;-)
    Markdown syntax support
    Editable comments
    Multiple task card assignees
    Card numbers
    Plug-ins/extensions
Extended task descriptions > 100 chars
Task groups (in WorkflowMax they're called "folders")
Ability to invite external users to a plan - aka Share
    Custom labels, label colors.
Move/copy task card to different plan
    Import/export tasks in plan
    Task templates
Archive old tasks (so they don't show up in charts)
    Better branding/identity customization per plan.

  13. Task card showing Word doc preview won't open

I have a task with a word attachment that shows a preview in card view... this task will not open in Chrome (Win) or Safari (Mac). I can open the attachment, but not the task.

  14. Planner after 5 days working perfect, now extremely slow

Not sure what the problem is. It worked perfectly for several days now but today it is extreme slow in the company. Its only the app planner the rest of the Microsoft products work fine.

    Anyone got the same experience?

  15. Use Project Instead??

It appears that a good number of the ideas can be implemented by using MS Project? I could be wrong but the rationale behind creating this tool was the fact that some team collaboration work is too small in scope to necessitate using Project but some work maybe to large in scope to use a 'cobbled' work flow methodology (i.e. email, Lync, file processing, etc). If most of these ideas came to fruition, you'd have a full blown PM tool- Project.

  16. Ability to disable Planner on a per-group basis.

Some O365 groups are not meant to use the Planner. It clutters things up to see the Groups listed in the planner. Provide a way to disable the Planner per group.

  17. You should be able to create logic around changes in status and a more robust workflow.

I'd love to have actions programmed by assigning tasks to new statuses.

  18. Instead of randomly implementing things, ask your users as to how THEY think it should work

There are a bunch of 'working on it's and great suggestions that have a huge number of votes.

Given the passionate attitude and active user engagement with a potentially great tool, it would seem wise to engage actively with users of these tools and see how they think it should work, as opposed to guessing and implementing how YOU think it should work. This is useful and has the start of something good, but really needs the users who will be implementing it as a productivity tool to guide how it can be most productive.

    Currently it's messy (visually not…

  19. Tasks and deadlines

    Hi there,

I have recently started using Office planner 365 and there are a few irks I have with it. I will list some issues below:

    1. My tasks - under the 'my tasks' section the list doesn't show which 'bucket' the task comes from. You have to click into the task. Would be better for overview to show the bucket it belongs to.

    2. Missed deadlines - I know these go red but it would be good if there was another kind of alert.
