If a task is late (the due date has passed), please make sure to send a notification to both the owner and anyone related to the task (coworkers, team leader,...).3,505 votes
Thank you for your patience. We are finishing up the development of due date notifications and are looking forward to pushing this out! Once complete, this will gradually become available to all users; we will update this thread again once it’s fully available to all Planner users.

Provide the ability to create Plan templates with existing tasks that can then be used to create a new plan
Rather than having to create every plan from scratch it would be good if the system allowed for the creation of Templates with pre-existing tasks (like in Word/Excel). This would allow a new plan and its tasks to be created from a template saving a lot of time.3,263 votes
Thank you so much for your examples and ideas!
To give an update, we’ve completed our first step of this deliverable, which is the ability to copy a task within a board. We have now planned and scheduled work to deliver copy plan functionality! We have a few more work items to complete before the end of this year, but hope to begin work on copy plan soon after. Your feedback has been very helpful in understanding how we can best deliver this feature.
As we work on copy plan, we will be exploring how a template experience can further help Planner users get things done. What are the ways in which you would like to use a template in Planner?

OK, so working out loud is good.... to a limit. Please enable settings that reduce the very high spam content currently coming from planner. Not everyone in the group wants to know ever movement on every task. Enable users to subscribe to various types of events on tasks. Hopefully at some time there will be some consistent settings like priority etc, that can be used as user selectable alert filtering.2,715 votes
Thanks for all the feedback! Based off all the comments, we’re focusing on email notifications for the following scenarios:
1. When a task is assigned to you
2. Changes on a task assigned to you
3. Comments on a task assigned to you
4. When you are @ mentioned in a task comment
Our team is currently working on email notifications when a task is assigned to you, and have started planning for the other scenarios. We’re also considering notifications for when you choose to follow a task.
We will continue to monitor the comments here and provide ongoing updates. We appreciate your feedback, so please continue to let us know how you’ll use notifications and if we’re missing anything!
Thank you for your feedback!
We have started development on a Filter feature that includes the ability to filter tasks within a board using keywords. This would allow users to quickly find tasks they are looking for based on a search term.
Beyond finding a task within a board, we have noticed a lot of comments mentioned searching for items across plans in the Planner hub. We have taken note of this and would love to hear more about the specific scenarios you could use this functionality for so that we can create a great experience around this.
Right now, groups have a 1 to 1 relationship (1 Group = 1 Plan), would be nice for a single group to have multiple plans2,089 votes
Thanks for all the feedback on this item. We’ve started initial thinking and investigations on possible designs for this feature.
We have sub consultants that we collaborate with on a daily basis. It would be nice to have different levels of permissions to view tasks, edit tasks, and / or create tasks.2,077 votes
Thank you for all your feedback!
We are now working on supporting external user access within Planner, we will update this thread as soon as it is available.
Thank you for the feedback!
We are still thinking about how we can best build this feature and are considering adding the ability to “Group by due date” within the Board and My Tasks view. What do you all think about this direction? We would love to hear more about specific scenarios you would be able to accomplish with this, or what would be most helpful to you and your team.
Add the ability to schedule tasks every day, every Wednesday, every last Friday of the month etc...1,453 votes
A windows universal app that will run on desktops and other windows devices1,071 votes
How it works: In the planner settings, you can create and customize the field and then select which projects it will be available, including the "all projects" option. Each task created now will have the new custom fields avaliable inside the card.1,011 votes
Thank you for your feedback! We agree that this would be very helpful when repeating processes tracked with Planner.
The ability to copy a plan falls into our wider effort of creating templates. Updates on this feature can be followed on this thread: https://planner.uservoice.com/forums/330525-microsoft-planner-feedback-forum/suggestions/11332998-provide-the-ability-to-create-plan-templates-with

If there is a specific scenario or reason why you would like to copy a plan, we would love to hear about it so that we can build the best experience possible!
Planner should provide a quick and easy way to report regularly. For example, a view of what was accomplished during a specific week would be helpful, so a date filter and a status filter may be needed. Additionally, a static snapshot would be helpful, for reporting to executives that require information push, so a way to group projects in addition to 'favorites' is needed, as well as a way to email a snapshot of the group dashboard.848 votes
Thank you for your feedback!
As a first step, we are planning on developing the ability to export to Excel. For updates and discussion on this suggestion, follow this thread: https://planner.uservoice.com/forums/330525-microsoft-planner-feedback-forum/suggestions/11116770-import-export-from-to-excel-project-etc
Moving forward we would like to have an API that is geared towards reporting scenarios. In order to build the best experience around this, we would love to hear about the specific scenarios and uses your team would have for reporting with Planner!
Currently, when a task is created in a "Plan" there is an associated group and group email address for that "Plan". If a user was to comment on a task, an email is sent to the group. Likewise if the recipient of that email replies to it, the comment appears in the task. Would it be possible to Send a new email to the "Plan" email address to create a task with the subject line of that email being the task name and the email's content being the description?723 votes
Integrate Planner Tasks to Sharepoint Tasks592 votes
Printing Capability - company and individual. Ideally would have the ability to print out the entire planner board so that everyone at the company can see the entire project list and have a transparent way for everyone to track performance. Similarly would be ideal to allow individual users print out their tasks.562 votes
The date format is fixed to mm/dd/yyyy, could this please be selectable based on your region - for example we use dd/mm/yyyy
We often find that some tasks on our planner need to done on a daily, weekly, monthly or yearly basis. Such as checking on logs or monitoring of another task.
Would be nice to have a task with the option that once it is marked as complete. It's status is reset after the specified time.367 votes
Please let us share plans with external people. Or at least tell us how to do this! For example, if you work in a project with a customer, they may want insight in your work.338 votes
Getting all scheduled tasks/dates to show up on one global calendar feed is essential. Right now Planner creates a separate "Calendar" (which does not display any of the created tasks - its just an empty calendar - must be a glitch) there is a limitation to overlay 10 calendars total to your main calendar. Ideal approach would be to have a "Tasks" calendar that would feed all "Plans" from all "tasks" to one calendar with active link to that task in planner abbreviation or listing of "Plan" name. This would allow team leader to print a weekly calendar showing all tasks due for that week.
